Our Facilities

QUALITY CONTROL
BUILT AROUND CONFIDENCE

NFM Europe gives customers access to the NFM Group’s quality-controlled production facilities, supporting reliable supply across copper, brass, bronze and specialist non-ferrous alloys.

NFM production facilities are ISO 9001:2015 accredited and operate with recognised quality systems, up-to-date specification sheets and clear technical standards. This gives customers confidence that materials are manufactured, inspected and supplied with consistency, traceability and performance in mind.

Beyond standard quality control procedures, the NFM Group also operates a fully functional Ultrasonic Inspection Department with qualified UT operators. This supports the supply of Technical Grade alloys where internal cleanliness, reliability and material integrity are critical.

Protocols

Testing ability

NFM Europe supports customers who require technical testing, material verification and inspection reporting for non-ferrous metals and alloys. Through the NFM Group’s quality assurance facilities, materials can be tested and reported according to the specific product, alloy and customer requirement. These processes help confirm that supplied materials meet the correct mechanical, chemical and performance expectations.

Tensile Testing

Used to measure material strength, ductility and performance under load.

Hardness Testing

Available across HB, HRB, VHN and RC hardness scales.

Mercurous Nitrate Accelerated Crack Testing

Used to assess stress corrosion cracking sensitivity in selected brass alloys.

DZR Testing

DZR tests are available to AS 2345 and ISO 6509 standards.

Metallography

Material structure and grain characteristics can be examined for quality and consistency.

Image Analysis and Phase Presence

Supports detailed review of material phases and internal structure.

Titration

Chemical analysis support for selected material and process requirements.

pH Level Testing

Used where material or process conditions require pH verification.

Spark Analysis, Spectro

Supports chemical composition checks through spectrographic analysis.

Atomic Absorption Analysis

Used for accurate elemental analysis across selected materials.

Portable XRF Analysis

On-site or portable alloy identification and verification support.

Failure Mode Analysis

Assists with understanding possible causes of material or component failure.

Ultrasonic Inspection

Internal Quality
You Can Trust

NFM has a fully functional Ultrasonic Inspection Department with automated, portable and manual scanning systems in use. This allows the group to inspect brass and bronze materials for internal soundness and material integrity before supply.

With the capacity to scan over 100 tons of brass and bronze per month, NFM confidently supplies Technical Grade material into the market. This supports customers who need cleaner, more dependable alloy products for demanding applications.

Ultrasonic scanning is carried out in compliance with recognised standards, including:

MIL-STD-271F

Military standard for non-destructive metal testing.

MIL-STD-2154

Military standard for ultrasonic inspection of wrought metals.

ASTM E2375-08

ASTM standard for ultrasonic testing of wrought metal products.

AMS-STD-2154

Aerospace standard for ultrasonic inspection of wrought metals.
